Established in the 1950’s and located west of the Galleria area, Briargrove is a renowned, family-oriented neighborhood. In fact, a significant percentage of current homeowners grew up there and have moved back to raise their own families. Additionally, Briargrove’s close proximity to many of Houston’s shopping and entertaining venues, has kept property values strong throughout the years.
The neighborhood has approximately 900 homes with a strong homeowner’s association, a common clubhouse, play area and pool. The clubhouse and pool are for residents and paid memberships only and contain an active, local swim team, the Barracuda’s. The recently constructed Briargrove Elementary School, is an impressive facility, and offers an active PTO. There is also a park, serving as a gathering spot for its families. The homes consist of those built in the 1950’s/1960’s, having extensive remodeling, to recent construction by custom builders. Prices range from the $500’s-$1.4M.
An elected, nine-member Board of Directors is responsible for managing the operational and administrative matters of the property association. This includes setting mandatory maintenance dues and fees for services, maintaining deed restrictions and establishing architectural guidelines for construction and improvements.
With the attractive, mature tree lined streets, inner city location and family environment, the neighborhood is set to continue to be one of the most desired places to live in Houston.
