Houston’s ever-growing restaurant scene has had a cool side effect. This year, there are over 40 restaurants participating in Houston Restaurant Weeks that have never done so before.
Houston Restaurant Weeks event chair Cleverley Stone kindly provided a list of all the new places. The only challenge for diners this year will be selecting from among so many good choices both in newcomers and old favorites. 2015 is shaping up to possibly be the best year ever for the annual dining and fundraising event and that’s good news for its beneficiary, Houston Food Bank.
Besides being for a good cause, one of the best value propositions for diners is the ability to have a multicourse meal at a place they’ve never tried before at a reasonable cost. While it’s sometimes hard for restaurants to keep up with the high demand, it’s a terrific marketing opportunity, as it gets diners in the door who have never before visited. The menus tend to be good cross-section of the restaurants style and offerings, as the offerings often include their “greatest hits.”
Here is the list of all the new restaurants that have signed up for Houston Restaurant Weeks this year. We’ve conveniently organized them by part of town or suburb, then alphabetically.
Finally, as a final value-add, I've marked my Critic's Picks. These are the restaurants that I have reviewed or visited that I believe will provide a great meal.

Also, be sure to check out the complete list of all participating restaurants at the Houston Restaurant Weeks web site. (Important note: some of these restaurants have multiple locations that are also participating in Houston Restaurant Weeks. This list exclusively consists of new places participating for the first time.)
